SKU Mapping

SKU mapping connects your internal ingredient identifiers to entries in the Eaternity Database, enabling automated environmental calculations.

How Mapping Works​

  1. Submit SKU list: Provide your ingredient master data
  2. Automatic matching: Our system matches known ingredients
  3. Manual review: Unmatched items are reviewed by our team
  4. Confirmation: You receive a mapping file for verification
  5. Activation: Approved mappings enable automated scoring

Data Requirements​

For each SKU, provide:

  • SKU code: Your internal identifier
  • Description: Full ingredient name
  • Category: Food group classification
  • Unit: Base unit of measure
  • Supplier (optional): Origin information

Mapping Quality​

Automatic Matching​

  • Exact name matches: 100% confidence
  • Fuzzy matching: 85%+ similarity required
  • Category inference: Used for validation

Manual Review​

Items that don't auto-match are reviewed by LCA specialists within 48 hours.

Maintenance​

Adding New SKUs​

Submit new items via API or CSV upload. New mappings typically complete within 2 business days.

Updating Mappings​

Request mapping updates when:

  • Supplier changes
  • Product formulation changes
  • Correction needed
